Awards

Over the past 11 years Houston Christian has been recognized as a Tommy Tune Award finalist 85 times. The department has won 12 times with1 National Jimmy Awards winner.

Houston Christian's ComedySportz Team won the city-wide battle in 2018 and was runner-up in 2019!

​

Houston Christian's Theatreworks students attend the ISAS Festival annually and are honored regularly for their performances in the arts.

​

As a standard, Houston Christian Theatreworks students receive academic honors, musical accolades and citizenship awards at school, around the city and in the state of outstanding achievement,.

 

To be an HC Theatreworks student is to be exceptional.

The Tommy Tune Awards is a city-wide High School competition for Musical Theatre that leads to the national competition, The Jimmy Awards in New York City. Most recently, there were 53 schools competed in the 2023 season. HC's Guys and Dolls received 30 nominations and 10 finalist awards including OUTSTANDING MUSICAL!! Only 7 schools were chosen Outstanding Musical and of them HC was the only private school and the smallest school to be awarded Outstanding Musical. The HC Theatreworks cast had the opportunity to perform Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat at the Awards Ceremony.
